Background:

With the launch of the Master Plan of ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) in 2010, building regional connectivity is highlighted as a main field to deepening regional integration. During the 2011 “10+3” summit, Thailand proposed to develop the “ASEAN+3 Partnership on Connectivity”, which call for the expansion of ASEAN Connectivity to Northeast Asia, that is, a connectivity Master Plan plus that covered it’s dialogue partners in that region, i.e., China, Japan and Korea. China strongly supports this proposal and intends to cooperate closely with ASEAN, Japan and ROK.

Mindful the potential contribution that building a regional connectivity network in deepening “10+3” cooperation in the future, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will host a forum on this topic to exchange views on building ASEAN+3 Partnership on Connectivity.

Objective:

The objective of this forum is to exchange views on perspectives of connectivity building under the ASEAN+3 framework and make policy recommendation on how to implement the agenda.

Participants and Expenditure:

Experts from ASEAN+3 countries and ASEAN Secretariat will be invited. The organizer will cover all the cost of local accommodation and traveling for all the panelists.
